Our Story

As an Indian immigrant mother raising a child in the West - a reality that, at times, feels like living between two worlds. I wanted my daughter to know the magic of Holi, the warmth of Diwali, and the meaning behind tying a Rakhi. But every time I tried to teach her about our festivals, it felt forced, like a history lesson she had to sit through. The excitement I had as a child during these celebrations? She wasn’t feeling it. And that broke my heart.

So, I stopped teaching and started doing. I brought out the colors, the crafts, the little traditions that made my childhood so special. We painted diyas, made paper Rakhis, and turned her bath squirter into a makeshift Pichkari. Slowly, something changed. She wasn’t
just listening anymore - she was excited, curious, and engaged.

I saw her eyes light up as she threw her first fistful of Holi colors. I saw her pride when she made her own little Ganpati. And in those moments, I realized, it wasn’t just about culture, it was about connection. She wasn’t just learning; she was celebrating. And I wasn’t just passing on traditions; I was reliving my childhood through her.

It felt like home.

That’s how Culturama Kids was born - not from a business plan, but from a mother’s desire to make culture fun, not forced. To take the boring out and bring the joy in. To create moments that aren’t just about heritage, but about bonding, laughter, and love - the same way my mother did with me.

This isn’t just about festivals. It’s about the stories we tell, the memories we make, and the little hands we hold along the way.

Welcome to Culturama Kids. Let’s learn, create, and celebrate together
